These are very plain and simple arepas, good as a side dish with a meat meal. They could be done with cheese as a dairy main course.
720 g masa flour
2 tsp salt
1130 g water
54 g olive oil

Prepare 2 foil baking pans with parchment paper.

Mix dry ingredients. Add wet ingredients and combine.

Preheat oven to 400 F.

Let rest for at least 10 minutes.

Divide dough between 2 pans. Flatten out and spread to edges.

Bake 50 minutes at 400 F, rotating pans in the middle.

Let cool on a rack. Divide into 24 pieces (12 per pan).
